Privacy, in plain words
Beast is a school assistant you text. It's an early test, run by one student for a small group of invited students. Here's exactly what it does with your stuff. Last updated October 6, 2026. See also the terms of service.
What Beast stores
- Your phone number, name and school.
- If you join the waitlist: the email or phone number you gave.
- Your assignments, courses and Canvas calendar events.
- Your last ~30 messages with Beast in each chat, so it remembers the conversation.
- Things Beast learns about you to help (like your work schedule). Text what do you know about me to see them, or forget one.
- How often each feature gets used and what it costs to run, so the builder can tell what's worth keeping.
Connections (all optional)
- Canvas: your access token is stored encrypted and only used to read Canvas. Beast never submits, edits or deletes anything there. Your school's IT hasn't reviewed Beast, so connecting it is your choice, and you can revoke the token in Canvas anytime.
- Ed Discussion: your Ed API token is stored encrypted and only used to read posts in your classes, so Beast can tell you what staff said. Beast never posts, replies or changes anything on Ed. Delete the token in Ed's settings or text disconnect ed anytime.
- Google Calendar: if you connect it, Beast asks Google for two things only:
- Your free/busy times (
calendar.freebusy): when you're busy, with no event titles, descriptions, locations or attendees. Beast uses them when you ask it to plan your week or suggest a time. - A calendar Beast creates (
calendar.app.created): a separate "Beast" calendar where it adds your deadlines and exams and keeps them up to date. Beast can't see or change any of your other calendars or events.
- Your free/busy times (
Google user data
- Beast's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Google Calendar data is only used to provide Beast's features to you: planning around your busy times and keeping your Beast calendar current. It is never sold, never used for ads, and never shared with anyone except as needed to run those features (your busy times can be included in the request to Anthropic's Claude when it writes a plan for you).
- Google user data is not used to develop, improve or train AI or machine learning models, Beast's or anyone else's.
- No human reads your Google data, unless you ask for help with a problem and give permission, or it's required by law.
Who sees it
- Your dashboard link is private to you. Anyone you send it to can see your board, so text new dashboard link if it gets out.
- In group chats Beast never shares your private links, email or grades.
- Messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude to write replies, and sent through Linq to reach iMessage.
- Nobody's data is sold or shared with anyone else.
- Signing in on the website uses a one-time code Beast texts you and a sign-in cookie that lasts 30 days. There are no ads or trackers on the site.
Deleting it
- Text disconnect canvas, disconnect ed or disconnect calendar to delete that connection. Disconnecting Google also revokes Beast's access on Google's side.
- Text delete my data, or use Preferences → Delete account on the website, to erase everything Beast has on you, including from its backups.
- Preferences → Export my data downloads everything Beast has on you.
- Backups are kept for up to 14 days, then deleted.
